Once our group has finished creating the timeline for our
music video we chose to discuss the kind of light we’d like within our three
elements. The following is the agreement we came to after discussing our
possibilities for a while. For the component that represents our lead singer we
want our artist to be lit subtly from all sides so as to bring the attention of
the audience towards her. Furthermore this will create a strong contrast
between the black background and the artist, which will be pleasing to the eye.
When contemplating what type of light we should use with our performance/paint
element we considered that we want the dancers to be engulfed by the paint.
Therefore we thought that for the performance to look most pleasing we should
place a strong light a on either the right or left. Through the following we
hope to achieve the most out of the vivid colours of the paint in combination
with the dancers. Additionally this would allow the dancers and paint to appear
more stimulating as there would be considerable contrast present within the
dancers and the paint. For our third element we considered using a subtle light
positioned in front of the screens. The notion is that the screens themselves
would provide most of the light for the shoot, but in order to achieve a higher
level of exposure we decided to use an additional subtle light. The concepts
above represent the general ideas we have for lightning of our music video. Although as a group we have agreed that we
are still going to develop upon this notion in order to utilize the lights we
have access to in the best possible manner.
